Sump Pits

A sump pit collects groundwater around your foundation and directs it away using a sump pump to help prevent basement flooding.

Signs your sump system needs attention

  • Water around the foundation during heavy rain
  • Pump cycles constantly or doesn’t run at all
  • Visible water in the sump pit staying high
  • Musty basement smell or humidity issues
  • Basement dampness after storms

How we service sump pits

  1. Inspect the pit, pump function, and discharge line
  2. Confirm the drainage route and check valve function
  3. Identify clogs or discharge issues
  4. Recommend repairs or improvements for reliable storm performance

Seasonal note

In Hamilton and the GTA, intense rain events can happen quickly — sump systems should be inspected before spring storm season.
